"We're kidnapping your bike... The lock's in the way though." Was the text I received from my roomies tonight when I got off of work around 11:30pm. They're so fun :) As I stepped into the lobby I saw them sitting in the dark, on the couch waiting for me to come out. They'd been out for dinner and thought to come pick me up from work. How sweet! We got home and as I went up the stairs I checked the time, 11:56pm. Brie disappeared into the kitchen and Eron blocked the entrance. "What time is it?" he asked. I told him. "Well, we'll go off of mountain time!" and he and Brie burst into song, singing Happy Birthday. Brie had made me homemade, Giradelli chocolate brownies with homemade caramel sauce on them! Mmmmm, they we're delicious!
I love my roomies!

Barn Party 2007

I had a great time tonight at the 3rd Annual Barn Party! For the first time I entered into the chili contest and the pie contest. I was quite surprised to actually win both! Of course, mine was the only fruit pie, but I was up against some tough competition with spicy chili. Especially since I don't really like chili, or spicy stuff. I had Crista taste it first, and then another friend. I actually didn't taste it until after Stess had put some in her bowl. Wow it was spicy! I do have a funny story to go along with my items. Pictures are worth a thousand words, unfortunately I don't have a picture of this, so you'll have to use your imagination. On the way to the party Stess had the crock pot of Chili sitting in a large cardboard box on her lap. In her hand was the pie in it's pie plate. I'm Moving!

I spent this past weekend with some friends in South East Portland. Tim and Hannah have been married for 3+ years now. Hannah and I worked at Camp Tadmor together and we've kept in touch. She and her sister, Naomi, are the kind of people who you can always count on, the relationship always seems to pick up where you left off no matter how long it's been since you were last able to spend time together. Hannah and I have been trying to do things together since I've been back in Portland, not always successful, but we try. Anyway... we had coffee a few weeks ago and she invited me to go to church with them. That turned into an invitation to spend the night on Saturday and watch a movie Saturday afternoon. So, this last weekend I went over there. They bought a home a year ago and have decorated it beautifully! I'm back! Yep, I'm back from Mongolia. We got into Portland Friday night. Thank you Stacy for coming to meet us! It was fun seeing you and getting to have dinner at McMinneman's. And Lani, I'm glad you stopped by too! For now, I'll just tell you what I'm sure you already know, the trip was amazing and I wish I was still there!
