Long time no see!

I know, it's bee a while since I last wrote anything, so I figure I'll catch you up, as much as I can while at work. My computer isn't working so that's my excuse for not writing lately. If you send me an email, sorry I haven't responded. I can only check it at work on my break so it doesn't happen much. Life is pretty much the same. I'm still liking my job. Currently I'm trying to get promoted to the senior position. Starting tomorrow (Thursday) I'll be coming in to work for training at 7am! Yuck! But, the upside of that is getting off at 4pm, so okay, I'll take it. Mongolia plans are heating up. I'm getting more excited about going. My "Aunt" Sandra is joining us this year so that's going to be great! I got my passport renewed and all I need now is shots :( I'm going down to Corvallis a lot, which I enjoy when I'm there but don't enjoy the thought of all that gas money! Church is great, when I get to go

Mongolitis

It's that time again! I went to my first Mongolia meeting on Sunday! It was supposed to be the whole team, those who've gone before and those who haven't. We weren't all there, but it was fun anyway! Already the memories are coming back and the laughter is contageous. Here are some highlights from this meeting... We were asked to introduce ourselves and give something about us that the others can use to remember who we are. We went around and no big deal, until Dani told us she was married to "the black guy" and thus James is "the black guy". Marv and Kate came late so they were asked the same question. James told Marv his example, the black guy, and so Marv is "the old white guy". Well Kate said she is the "beautiful young woman" and then I piped up. (I can always tell when I'm getting comfortable in a situation because I get sarcastic...) I told Kate that they were going to get us confused. Everyone started laughing

15 Sirens

I was driving back up to Portland from a Mongolia meeting yesterday and had an interesting experience on I-5. Being Sunday afternoon and the end of spring break for Washingtonians, the traffic was heavy. Not stop and go, but crowded. I was in the far right lane just south of Camas, by the rest stop, when I saw a car coming up behind me a few cars back. I noticed him because he was passing us on the right! He came flying past me, on the right using the emergency lane to pass. I honked at him but couldn't do much. I did notice he had a California licens plate. I was getting out my phone to try and call someone when I saw a Sheriff race by with his lights flashing in the left lane. A minute later four more came flying by. By now I'm thinking it's got to be related. As I went through Wilsonville there were two police cars on the on ramp, apparently waiting to join the chace because a minute later about 6 more cars came flying past us! I saw the sirens ahead as I passe

Isn't my nephew cute?!

Happy Birthday Lil Sis!

Today my sister is 25! No, really. She was born on April Fool's Day. I had lots of fun with that as a kid, but that wore off rather quickly. You can only give so many rocks before it starts to loose it's purpose. Today she's actually in Portland for a job fair. I'm praying hard she'll get an amazing offer up here and move this summer. I'd love to live with her again. She was bummed the fair was today as she's waited 3 years to celebrate her birthday with her students. She's got all sorts of tricks planned. Lucky for her she'll be back tomorrow and the kids are all planning to celebrate with her then. Last night we went out for dinner with a bunch of friends. We had a great time! I'll add pictures later. So my sister is 25. A quarter of a century old. She's amazing. Love you Stess!
