Stuff and Nonsense

I know, it's been a while since I last posted anything. I've been trying to come up with something really great to write about, but nothing's coming to mind. So, instead of some wonderful pearls of wisdom, you get the mundane. Well, maybe not mundane, but my life as it pertains to:

...Living quarters. I'm pretty settled in to my place now. Last Sunday I got home from church and shortly after both roomates did. We had a chance to sit down for lunch together, not planned, it just happened. It was a fun, non-stressful time. We actually had a neighbor come by and give us a welcome gift! Later we went to the park and threw a ball for Brandi, our friendly dog, and played on the swings. All in all, a very relaxing time just hanging out. Later Jamie and I went to Target, with 2 stories! Jamie was really funny, being from a small town, Target with an escelator that you can put your cart down was quite an adventure.

...Church. I'm still trying to find a home group but no luck yet. With my schedule as it currently is, I can't do anything in the evenings unless it starts after 8. That doesn't happen often. But, I'm still looking and I'll probably find a home group on Sunday evenings. Last Sunday was a blast from the past as I ran into my old neighbors and three different people/groups from the church I used to attend up here. And last night I ran into my old pastor's son, John, on the max. It's always weird to run into people who I know from the past. I never expect to see someone I know on the max, but it happens.

...Food. Dad called this week and was in town. His work paid for us to go to the Cheesecake Factory! I've never been before and it was really good! I had a great time being on a "date". I sent Stess a message saying I was on a date with a married man. She had the reaction I was looking for... :)

...Work. Work is good. I'm training this week and next. There's also a possibility that I'll be training a lot more in the future, which I think is good, cause I like it!

Well, that's all for now. Lunch is over here soon...

Mi Primera Fin de Semana en Espana - My first weekend in Spain

This was my first view from my hotel when I arrived on Friday afternoon:  After a short nap, MUCH needed but short because I did want to sleep later that night, this was the view that I woke to... The clouds had burned away and it was SO beautiful! There's a beautiful walkway along the ocean. People are always walking, running and biking along it. I discovered that, though I'd bought an adapter at home, it was not the correct one for Spain. So I headed out to explore and with one thing in mind. Stopping first at the reception desk, I exchanged some money and asked for directions to a location where I could purchase said adapter. Thankfully they had a map that they gave me and pointed out a store just up the street that would probably have what I was looking for. Before walking up the streets in search, I stopped to admire the view closer.  This statue is located right outside of the hotel. Here's a close up:   As I sat in this area I obviously loo
