Training

Wow it's been a busy week! Life has changed quickly and a bit dramatically this past week. I'm now an actual trainer at work. On Tuesday (at 11:30) I found out that I'd be training a new hire class (at 12:30). A few months ago I was in the associate trainer training class, but since then I hadn't actually trained anything! So, I got thrown into the job.
To top it off, the guy I'm training with is going to India this Thursday. My trainer left last week for India. The one other person for my contract is leaving for vacation this week and also gave his 2 weeks notice. So, all my experienced support is leaving.
The class is a mix of those who've been here before and newbies. I've been trying to get those who've been here to help the others, yet at the same time, want them to know that the process is different than the ones they knew. The training schedule is 8-5, mine is 10:30-7:30, so last week starting Wednesday, I was working from 7:45ish AM to 7:30ish PM! Long days to say the least.
Even with all that though, I'm enjoying the class. They're a good group of people. I'm a bit lost at times and need to work on my classroom management, but I'm enjoying it. A great benefit of this is the overtime pay and the raise I get when I'm training. All this is going to come right before I go to Mongolia! God is so Awesome!

Just for fun

I'm looking through my pictures, trying to find a specific one, but I've run across these four pictures that I just want to post. No big reason other than it was a fun weekend. A while ago Stess came up to Ptown and we got to hang out with our "Brothers" Ryan and Kyle. Kyle didn't look at the camera, Ryan made a face, my camera didn't focus on Stess and I, and then the sky was just cool. So, for no real reason, enjoy!

Barn Party 2007

I had a great time tonight at the 3rd Annual Barn Party! For the first time I entered into the chili contest and the pie contest. I was quite surprised to actually win both! Of course, mine was the only fruit pie, but I was up against some tough competition with spicy chili. Especially since I don't really like chili, or spicy stuff. I had Crista taste it first, and then another friend. I actually didn't taste it until after Stess had put some in her bowl. Wow it was spicy! I do have a funny story to go along with my items. Pictures are worth a thousand words, unfortunately I don't have a picture of this, so you'll have to use your imagination. On the way to the party Stess had the crock pot of Chili sitting in a large cardboard box on her lap. In her hand was the pie in it's pie plate. We were driving her little Mustang and I was driving, trying to do so carefully so as not to spill the chili or dump the pie. We went up a small hill and realized that the chili wa...

I'm Moving!

I spent this past weekend with some friends in South East Portland. Tim and Hannah have been married for 3+ years now. Hannah and I worked at Camp Tadmor together and we've kept in touch. She and her sister, Naomi, are the kind of people who you can always count on, the relationship always seems to pick up where you left off no matter how long it's been since you were last able to spend time together. Hannah and I have been trying to do things together since I've been back in Portland, not always successful, but we try. Anyway... we had coffee a few weeks ago and she invited me to go to church with them. That turned into an invitation to spend the night on Saturday and watch a movie Saturday afternoon. So, this last weekend I went over there. They bought a home a year ago and have decorated it beautifully! Well, after the movie in Salem and dinner with Stess, Hannah and I went back to their place and Tim came upstairs. Hannah then told me that she and Tim had a ques...
