Mr. Sniffles

I've been training a new hire class for going on three weeks now and I thought I'd share a bit about my class. I am teaching 20 men about how to be a technician on my contract. That in itself is a feat. Me, someone with very little technical experience (that's a step up from none), teaching 20 guys with varying degrees of technical ability, most of which probably have much more experience than I do. However, even with this being the case, the class is going really well!
On the first day I did have one woman, but she bailed and never came back. I can only assume she was intimidated by the daunting task ahead of us. So, now I've got these guys in a classroom for 40 hours a week, three weeks long. It's been fun.
I've got the older gentlemen who vary from not knowing anything about "modern" computers to knowing more than their fair share of information. I have the guys who transfered from other contracts and those who are new to my workplace all together. I have the young guy who doesn't know much about computers, but is willing to learn, and the guys who have built many a pc and will have no problem with fixing the computers.
And then... I have "Mr. Sniffles." Mr. Sniffles is probably about 20, sits right next to me, constantly has a comment about something, an experience to relate or a story to tell (valid or not) and yes, you guessed it, sniffles constantly! It's really quite funny, and yet so annoying at the same time! To top that off, he's also kinda socially inept (no really?!) and the rest of the class has a bit of a difficult time with him. We're trying to keep it in check, but I must admit, occasionally I do catch an eye roll, sometimes from myself to another agent.
All in all though, the class is going great and I'm having a blast!

Mi Primera Fin de Semana en Espana - My first weekend in Spain

This was my first view from my hotel when I arrived on Friday afternoon:  After a short nap, MUCH needed but short because I did want to sleep later that night, this was the view that I woke to... The clouds had burned away and it was SO beautiful! There's a beautiful walkway along the ocean. People are always walking, running and biking along it. I discovered that, though I'd bought an adapter at home, it was not the correct one for Spain. So I headed out to explore and with one thing in mind. Stopping first at the reception desk, I exchanged some money and asked for directions to a location where I could purchase said adapter. Thankfully they had a map that they gave me and pointed out a store just up the street that would probably have what I was looking for. Before walking up the streets in search, I stopped to admire the view closer.  This statue is located right outside of the hotel. Here's a close up:   As I sat in this area I obviously loo
